My High School Skills USA Shirt Design 2019

I wanted to represent Utah in as many ways as possible with this shirt design. It was the assignment after all! I started with the basic Bee, since we are the "Beehive State". Then after some more research, got inspired by the Native culture here; The Rugs, Glyphs, Zions National Park, Ect. So I pulled together some designs that inspired me and I threw my interpretations of those patters into the wings and torso, the hollow outlines of the bee also get across the "Glyph" aspect more. Then I even created the font myself! I loved the whole process of this piece and would love to do something similar again.
